Michael C. McMillen
earned his MA and MFA
from UCLA. He has received numerous awards, including the Los Angeles
County Museum of Art Young Talent Award and a Getty Artist Fellowship.
McMillen has exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the
Guggenheim Museum, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. He is

McMillen is best known for assemblage sculptures of found objects and eccentric
mixed media installations, such as The Central Meridian (aka The Garage) at
LACMA and Dr. Crump’s Mobile Field Lab at Cal Tech. His sculpture, Maquette
for The Studio (3 3/4" x 5 7/8" x 3 7/8") is a miniature version of the large
suitcase with a peephole that was shown at the Basel Art Fair last year.
